Overview

Cohesive is an Esri partner and offers Geographic Information System (GIS) services in support of Enterprise Asset and Service Management solutions.  We enable field workers with mobile solutions allowing accurate data capture from remote locations.

The foundational mission of the practice is providing GIS support, technology, and thought leadership to Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) / Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) projects.  This can be through standard solutions such as IBM’s Maximo Spatial or tailored offerings.

As an ESRI Silver Partner and IBM AAA Acredited Partner we work with architects, sales, and development staff from both companies on issues of GIS uses in Asset Management.  As a GIS and EAM services provider we also develop our own solutions, methods, and ways of implementing these technologies to meet our customer’s needs.

What is Spatial Asset Management and How is it Different?

Utilities, Facilities, and other organizations with assets distributed over large areas outside the four walls of a factory need the ability to understand how location and geography impact their maintenance operations.  Spatial Asset Management brings together the geographic analytics of GIS with the transactional business processes and data of EAM.

With Maximo Spatial, Maximo maintenance and planning users get the benefit of an imbedded, interactive map of their assets, locations, work orders, and service requests to search and query.

The GIS benefits from tying into a transactional repository of data not easily managed in GIS.  Data such as asset condition inspections are made available for analysis on the map, but the layers of history are stored in EAM.

Through this link Maximo can provide maintenance and criticality data to GIS for advanced spatial analysis.  The combined system can answer questions like, “Where is my highest density of critical assets and does it match up with where I am spending my maintenance dollars?”
